We were blown away by the response to our survey! 3389 developers working in South Africa shared with us what it's like to work here, what their most-widely used programming languages are and what they are looking to do in the next five years.
We put together a comprehensive report on these findings, and are super excited to share it with you here!
What skills do developers have at certain stages of their career? How are they being compensated, and how do they level up? We want to shed light on what it's like to be a dev in South Africa – and we need YOUR help in our first ever survey on the State of South Africa's Developer Nation.
The goal of this survey is to gain a better understanding of your experience in your career as a developer, from your favourite programming languages and frameworks right down to your pet peeves at work.
Whether you’re actively looking for a new job or are happy in your current position, please take 15 minutes to fill out this short survey.
We hope that we can use this data to create accessible insights for you and, at a larger scale, drive positive change in our local industry.
As a BIG thank you for your participation, you’ll get early access to a report on the findings and an OfferZen t-shirt! To top it off, you’ll be entered into a lucky draw to win the ultimate OfferZen swag hamper!
We're blown away by the AMAZING response to our survey so far!
Because we're not a t-shirt company (yet), we'll be sending t-shirts to the first 2000 valid responses from software developers working in South Africa.
Everyone who takes the survey will still be in the running to win the ULTIMATE OfferZen swag hamper, and we're making it bigger and better than before. You'll also still get first access to a report on the findings so keep those responses coming in!
Please note, this survey is for research purposes only:
- All responses will be viewed as an aggregate.
- Your individual responses will not be attributed back to you or have an impact on your OfferZen profile, should you have one.
- You must currently be working as a dev in South Africa to take part.
- The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
We can’t wait to share the results with you!
